GREATER Western Sydney has announced assistant Brad Miller as its coach for the upcoming AFLX campaign.

The Giants join St Kilda, Hawthorn, Brisbane and Essendon by appointing assistant coaches to take the reins for the new format.

Ben McGlynn will coach the Saints, premiership ruckman-turned-assistant coach Max Bailey will pull the strings on Hawthorn's AFLX campaign from the sidelines, while Brisbane ruck and midfield coach Ben Hudson will guide the Lions. Essendon assistant Hayden Skipworth will take over from John Worsfold.

Melbourne's strategy and education coordinator Craig Jennings will be in charge on game day for the Dees while Richmond will hand the coaching reins to development coach Xavier Clarke and assistant Justin Leppitsch.

However, Port Adelaide and Gold Coast won't make any changes to their setups, with senior coaches Ken Hinkley and Stuart Dew to oversee their respective teams.
