PORT Adelaide recruit Steven Motlop has been cleared of a serious calf injury and is on track to have another pre-season hit-out before the start of the premiership campaign.

The former Geelong speedster is set to line up for the Power in their JLT Community Series clash with Adelaide at Alberton Oval on Saturday.

Motlop hurt his calf during the Power's two-point loss to West Coast in Perth on February 25, having just eight disposals during his club debut.

Fellow recruit Tom Rockliff will be assessed during the week to see if he's recovered from knee soreness that forced him to sit out the game with the Eagles.

Electric forward Chad Wingard, winger Jared Polec and promising youngster Todd Marshall could also go into the season without a pre-season game.

Wingard and Polec have been hampered by hamstring issues, while Marshall is in doubt with a calf complaint.
