AUSTRALIAN musician Missy Higgins will perform in the lead-up to Saturday afternoon's NAB AFL Women's Grand Final clash between the Western Bulldogs and Brisbane at Ikon Park.

The nine-time ARIA Award winner will play Scar and Futon Couch.

"I'm thrilled to announce Australian artist Missy Higgins will perform at Saturday's NAB AFL Women's Grand Final, hot off her successful tour with Ed Sheeran that wraps up this week," AFL head of women's football Nicole Livingstone said.

"Ed performed at the 2014 men’s Grand Final, so I hope he's given Missy some tips about performing on one of the AFL's biggest stages come Saturday.

"It's great we've been able to add a performer that is so loved by Australian audiences to the NAB AFL Women's Grand Final Day."

Higgins is a Melburnian and expressed her delight at performing ahead of the decider.

"I grew up as a huge footy fan, going to matches all the time, and at one stage I was even the only girl in my primary school footy team, so I'm super-excited and honoured to be playing the AFLW Grand Final," Higgins said.

Entry to the game is free, with the match to begin at 12.35pm AEDT.

Gates open at 11.00am AEDT. Priority access will be given to AFLW Dogs and Lions members before the general public will be allowed in from 11.30am AEDT.

The game will be streamed live on AFL.com.au, the AFLW app and the AFL Live app.
