CARLTON'S bid to end its winless start is suddenly much tougher, with star ruckman Matthew Kreuzer, Jacob Weitering and Matthew Kennedy out injured.

Adelaide midfielder Rory Sloane (foot) and Port Adelaide recruit Tom Rockliff (calf) also won't play in round five, while 2013 No.1 draft pick Tom Boyd is in for his first game since round 13 last year.

Sam Powell-Pepper, who has served his club-imposed one-match ban, ruled himself unavailable for selection as an AFL investigation continues into a late-night incident at an Adelaide bar on April 8.

ALL THE TEAMS: Check them out

The omissions of David Cuningham and Nick Graham brought the Blues' changes to five for Saturday's twilight clash with West Coast at the MCG.

But promising forward Harry McKay will make his season debut, alongside some familiar names in Sam Rowe – back from a knee reconstruction – Sam Kerridge, Kreuzer's replacement Andrew Phillips and Jed Lamb.

The Eagles promoted Mark Hutchings for Daniel Venables, who is set to miss the next 10 weeks with an ankle injury.

The Crows look vulnerable on paper for Friday night's match with Sydney, with Sloane, Eddie Betts (hamstring), David Mackay (concussion) out injured and young gun Darcy Fogarty dropped.

Riley Knight, Andy Otten, Jordan Gallucci and Myles Poholke, who will play his first match, are Adelaide's inclusions.

Gary Rohan (personal reasons) and Harrison Marsh return for the Swans, who omitted Nic Newman and Aliir Aliir.

St Kilda has brought back key forward Tim Membrey (knee) to support Paddy McCartin as one of three changes, including last year's No.7 pick Hunter Clark and Maverick Weller.

Dylan Roberton, who collapsed during last week's game and was hospitalised with a suspected irregular heartbeat, Rowan Marshall (concussion) and Jack Lonie are out for Saturday's clash with Greater Western Sydney.

The Giants are unchanged, meaning Josh Kelly (groin soreness) and Rory Lobb (bone bruising in left knee) will miss at least one more match.

Ex-Brisbane captain Rockliff joins the omitted Trent McKenzie in going out of the Power's line-up for the match with Geelong at Adelaide Oval on Saturday night.

Jake Neade and Jack Hombsch are their replacements, while Jackson Thurlow and James Parsons come in for the Cats, who dropped Zach Guthrie and lost Cory Gregson (foot).

Fremantle has promoted Ed Langdon (illness) and debutant Taylin Duman for Saturday night's game against the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium.

The Dockers have managed veteran defender Michael Johnson and omitted Tommy Sheridan.

Boyd, who kicked five second-half goals for the Bulldogs' VFL team, is one of four additions for the Dogs, including Zaine Cordy (suspension), Patrick Lipinski and Lukas Webb.

Sam Wright (ongoing foot and ankle problems) could play his first match for North Melbourne since round 11, 2016 against Hawthorn at Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

The Kangaroos could also bring in Ben McKay, Cameron Zurhaar and potential debutant Will Walker.

Ryan Burton, James Cousins, Will Langford, Kaiden Brand and possible debutants James Worpel and Mitchell Lewis are the Hawks' potential inclusions.

Cyril Rioli (knee) and Paul Puopolo (hamstring) are the only confirmed outs.

Sam Mayes and Rhys Mathieson are the confirmed casualties of Brisbane's 93-point thrashing at Richmond's hands last week.

Daniel McStay, Ryan Bastinac, Ryan Lester, ex-Giant Jake Barrett, Jacob Allison and potential ruck debutant Oscar McInerney are in contention to replace the axed pair.

The Lions meet Gold Coast on Sunday in the QClash, with Michael Barlow – after 46 touches in the NEAFL – Matt Rosa, Jesse Lonergan and rookie Max Spencer in line to return for the Suns.

The teams for Tuesday night's Melbourne v Richmond clash and the Anzac Day blockbuster between Collingwood and Essendon will be announced on Monday.
