THE AFL has announced Special K has extended its sponsorship of the NAB AFL Women's Competition until the end of the 2019 season.

Special K, an inaugural partner, is passionate in continuing to inspire the next generation of young girls and women around the country in kicking their life goals through AFLW.

Kellogg's marketing director, Tamara Howe, said she was thrilled with the continued alignment of Special K with AFLW.

"AFLW represents everything Special K believes in. We want to be able to inspire young girls and women in their everyday life," Howe said.

"The inaugural AFLW season was incredible and the second only built on its success. We are thrilled to continue our partnership with the AFLW and keep this momentum going.

"The AFLW is all about celebrating strong women within the game, and we are excited to see our partnership applaud every great chase, strong tackle, crucial mark and goal-saving smother with the Special K 'Play of the Day'," she said.

The AFL's head of women's football Nicole Livingstone thanked Special K for the continued support.

"To be on the journey we are on and to have such amazing partners like Special K, who are fully invested in our values and aligned with what we are trying to achieve is fantastic," Livingstone said.

"It is important to be able to continue to build relationships with brands and organisations who are willing to support women and the game.

"Special K has been fantastic in championing women in all aspects of life and we cannot wait to continue our journey with them into the 2019 season.

"Women's sport is at a revolutionary stage. Female athletes of today truly epitomise strength, courage and resilience," she said.

Special K ambassadors Moana Hope and Darcy Vescio have both said the success of the AFLW competition is incredible and they hope they can continue to inspire fans with another strong season in 2019.

"To have the support of Special K, their belief in our game and their belief in women's sport overall is a huge win," Hope said.

"I love this game and to see Special K continue their support and encouraging kids, women and men to aim high for whatever they want is amazing."

"Special K is about living life and embracing who you are. That's why I love that they have the confidence in the sport and in me to get the message out there, and that is for women to love who they are," Vescio said.

"We are all strong individuals and we all need to celebrate who we are," she said.
