ADELAIDE has suffered a late blow just before Sunday's clash with Melbourne in Alice Springs, ruling out in-form wingman Paul Seedsman because of an injury suffered in the warm-up.

Seedsman, who leads the AFL in metres gained with 621 per match, hurt his adductor and four-gamer Myles Poholke will take his place.

STATS MACHINE Crow set to join exclusive club

His setback comes on top of the Crows already being without the likes of skipper Taylor Walker (glute/back), Brodie Smith (knee), Mitch McGovern (ankle), Brad Crouch (groin) and Riley Knight (hamstring).

But they did regain All Australian onballer Matt Crouch (hamstring) for the match, which will propel the winner into third place.

There was speculation that Demons swingman Tom McDonald (toe) might miss, but he will take his place.

James Harmes, Charlie Spargo, Angus Brayshaw and Bernie Vince will start on the bench for Melbourne, while Hugh Greenwood, David Mackay, Poholke and Wayne Milera are on the interchange for Adelaide.
