ROUND 11 is the last chance we have a regular AFL Fantasy round for a few weeks. The multi-bye rounds start next week and there is a string of Thursday night games. Coaches need to get set for the normal Friday night 7:50pm AEST lockout and get teams in the best shape they can be before the challenging weeks hit like a tonne of bricks.

Generally speaking, team selection for round 11 has been kind.

Jarryd Lyons has been omitted for the Suns. His owners will be seething as part of the reason he is in their squads is because Gold Coast has already had its bye.

Collingwood will be without Jeremy Howe (bone bruising) who had been scoring like a top defender prior to last week. Fellow backman Bachar Houli (groin) will me missing for the Tigers and causing pain to his Draft owners as will the omission of Ryan Clarke for those taking a punt on the Roo.

A few cash cows won’t be adding any value as David Mirra, Brad Scheer and Brayden Crossley have been omitted. Esava Ratugolea (leg) has enjoyed a profitable Fantasy season to date, however he will be on the sidelines for the foreseeable future after undergoing surgery this week.

Important inclusions include Michael Hurley for the Bombers after a fortnight out and Tom Lynch for the Suns as they play their first game at Metricon Stadium for the year. Following monster Fantasy scores of 138, 168, 138 and 140 in the NEAFL, Nic Newman has been called up as the Swans take on the Blues on Friday night.

Brody Mihocek (DEF, $170,000) is the only confirmed debutant for round 11, but there are another six potential first-gamers in the Sunday squads. It is not recommended to recruit the mature-aged Pie for your squad as he is averaging 67 points in the VFL. He did however kick two goals last week for 86 points in a new role as a forward; a position Nathan Buckley said he will play in the senior side.

Get them in

Tom Rockliff (MID, $545,000) is rightfully the most popular selection this week as he heads down to Tassie where he dominates. After a slow start that has resulted in his $180K price drop, he is back in the middle where he belongs and his scores of 127 and 106 reflect that. He has a breakeven of just 56 and will be a top six forward for the remainder of the year.

Tim Smith (FWD, $277,000) has inflated his price and understandably so after averaging 97 over his first two games which sees him as the second most popular trade this week. Many coaches believe he is an unmissable cash cow and his breakeven of -37 justifies that.

Angus Brayshaw (DEF, $592,000) is one of the true bargains this week after pumping out a huge 166 last week to cap off some sensational form following a move from the backline to his preferred midfield role. While playing back he was averaging 19 touches and 66 but since the move up the ground he is averaging 29 touches and 115 points. It speaks for itself.

Move them on

Tim Kelly (MID, $477,000) has a nice matchup this week against the Suns but his ability to score 70s has dried up and as a result, his cash generation has not only slowed but he leaked $12,000 last week. He has more than done is job and Ablett is stealing his midfield time.

Sam Murray (DEF, $495,000) is the second most traded out player this week, but hold your horses on this one and make sure he isn’t playing after being named on the extended interchange for the Pies, who have three forced changes this week. I can see him being named first emergency, however it is worth keeping an eye on. If you decide to trade, he has increased $395,000 and serves and a nice stepping stone to a premium.

Tim Taranto (MID/FWD, $583,000) is sliding fast after a couple of disappointing games and the fact Josh Kelly has returned, pushing Taranto forward is not helping his scoring or price, dropping by $29,000 last week. He is the third most traded out player this week but if you want a reason to hold; the Crows concede the most tackles of any club and when Taranto lays at least five this year, he has scored 112, 91, 120, 95, 100, 93, 104.

Calvin’s Captains

1. Brodie Grundy - With Sandilands NOT playing, this one is a no brainer. Grundy is in awesome form scoring 110+ in his last nine games and if you are in the 23 per cent of coaches who own him, brace yourself for an easy 140+ score this week.

2. Tom Mitchell - Mitchell scored 118 against Port last year and averages 133 at Aurora Stadium with a huge 147 coming from there earlier this year. A tag from Ebert might slow him down though but with 135 and 149 in the last two weeks, he’ll be fine.

3. Jack Macrae - Remember when Nathan Jones shut down Tom Mitchell? Will he do that to Macrae this week? Melbourne is the second hardest team to score against, and Macrae's second worst team over his career. He is back at Etihad though where he averages 132 this year, and let’s not forget his form that sees him averaging 142 in the last five weeks.

4. Max Gawn - Managed only 74 last week but takes on the Boyd/Roughead combination, a duo that have given up scores of 124, 78, 114 and 131 to ruckman in the last four weeks.

5. Patrick Dangerfield - Scored 119, 129 and 138 in his last three games against the Suns and posted 117 last week, his second highest score for the year. Dangerfield will explode with a huge score soon and it might just be this week.
