GREATER Western Sydney's upset win over the Crows in Adelaide is of its best in recent times, according to coach Leon Cameron.

The Giants went into the clash out of form and under the cosh following four consecutive defeats.

But an inspired performance resulted in a brilliant 16-point victory – their first over the Crows in Adelaide – much to Cameron's delight.

"We're rapt with the win, it's probably one of our better wins for a number of years, to win over here," Cameron said.

"To get a win over here – we haven't done that against the Crows – so it's just enormous for our club.

"It's one of the hardest away trips."

The Giants (11th with a 5-5-1 record) were piloted by their leaders.

Callan Ward had 22 possessions at 82 per cent efficiency and had seven clearances, while fellow co-captain Phil Davis (13 touches, five rebound 50s) was rock solid in defence all night.

Jeremy Cameron was a handful up forward with three goals, including two in the final term when the game was up for grabs.

Josh Kelly – in just his second match back from injury – was phenomenal with 31 possessions, while Dylan Shiel had 30 touches and kicked a goal.

Stephen Coniglio gathered 24 disposals, had seven clearances and kicked two goals before going off the ground after a knock to the head in the third quarter.

"I thought the resilience from the group, especially from our leaders, led by Davis and Ward and Coniglio and Kelly really helped us play a more consistent brand tonight," Cameron explained.

"They probably don't get many pats on the back.

"Phil Davis and Ward and Kelly and Coniglio were really terrific this week and reinforced a number of things, and I thought they played their part in the game."

Cameron said he never lost faith in his group, but was aware that some at the club may have been wondering when the wheel would turn.

"I think the players have more doubt. You always come in to every game [expecting to win]. I expected to beat Geelong in Geelong, I expected to beat West Coast, I expected to beat the Kangaroos and I expected to beat Essendon," he added.

"I have great optimism about our footy club and I go into every game to win.

"But no doubt when you have a trend where we weren't fulfilling our end of the bargain, there's no doubt that some doubt can just creep in."

The Giants are at home next Saturday to listless Gold Coast (15th, 3-7), and Cameron has challenged his players to deliver the same level of intensity they took to the City of Churches.

"It means nothing if we don't turn up at 4.40pm next Saturday against Gold Coast. That's our challenge, to be a more consistent club," he said.

Coniglio will be monitored during the week after he suffered delayed concussion from the knock to the head in the third quarter.
