SEVERAL clubs were dealt serious injury blows in round 11, in what can only be described as a weekend of carnage.

League leaders West Coast will be sweating on scan results for star forward Jack Darling, whose night came to an end late in the opening term after he landed on Logan Austin's ankle following a marking contest.

After spending time in the rooms, Darling went to the bench on crutches with ice applied to his ankle.

The Eagles have a bye in round 12, before travelling to Sydney to tackle the Swans in round 13.

Essendon veteran David Zaharakis looks certain to miss weeks, after he hurt his collarbone in the Dreamtime clash on Saturday night.

Zaharakis experienced discomfort on Saturday night, with his collarbone slipping in and out of the joint at the sternum when he breathed.

Melbourne will be without Jake Lever for the remainder of 2018, after scans revealed the in-form defender has a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

Adelaide will be hoping Tom Lynch recovers from an abdomen injury in time for its trip west to face Fremantle in round 12.

Lynch received an accidental Callan Ward boot to the stomach in the second quarter and experienced severe discomfort from that point on.

Brisbane's loss to North Melbourne on Sunday was further soured with potentially serious injuries to some of its key players.

Charlie Cameron (ankle) and Allen Christensen (concussion) were both out of the game before half-time.

Hugh McCluggage (hamstring) also took no part in the second half, while Jarrod Berry was a late out with hamstring soreness.

The injury-hit Lions host Essendon on Sunday.

North Melbourne will be hoping veteran forward Jarrad Waite comes up in time for the Roos' clash with Cats on Saturday.

Waite was a very late withdrawal after feeling tightness in a calf during the warm-up.

Fellow Roo Jed Anderson (hamstring) will be monitored.

Tory Dickson will spend more time on the sidelines, after he pinged his left hamstring in the opening quarter of the Dogs' loss to Melbourne.

St Kilda looks set to be without captain Jarryn Geary when they host Sydney on Saturday.

Geary went into the rooms during the third quarter and returned to the bench with his left calf strapped.

Greater Western Sydney may be missing Stephen Coniglio (delayed concussion) for its round 12 date with Gold Coast.

The Giants vice-captain suffered delayed concussion after copping a knock to the head from Adelaide's Bryce Gibbs during the third quarter.

Gold Coast will likely be missing three experienced players when it heads to Spotless Stadium on Saturday.

Co-captain Steven May hobbled off late in Saturday night's match with a high ankle issue, Aaron Young also has an ankle injury, while Aaron Hall has a problem with either a pectoral or bicep tendon.

Fremantle's 61-point defeat by Collingwood was compounded by injuries to Alex Pearce, Michael Walters, Lachie Neale and Connor Blakely.

Pearce seems the most likely to miss round 12 action, after he was helped from the ground with an ankle issue in the third term, and took no further part in the game.

Walters (corked calf), Blakely (shoulder) and Neale (calf) all soldiered on.

In other injury news:

- Melbourne's Jake Melksham hurt his ankle in the first term of Saturday's win, but played out the game and should be fine for the Queen's Birthday clash with Collingwood.

- Collingwood's Steele Sidebottom copped a nasty corkie to his left leg in the final term, but played out the game.

- Carlton's Patrick Cripps appeared hindered by a thigh complaint (which was heavily strapped on Friday night), but with the Blues having a week off he may be fit to face the Dockers at Etihad Stadium in round 13.

- Port Adelaide's Charlie Dixon had to have his right knee taped during the second half of the Power's loss to Hawthorn, but it doesn't appear to be anything serious.

- Luke Shuey, who was a late out for West Coast, is likely to return in round 13. The gun on-baller was a late out, as he continues to overcome a hamstring injury.

- St Kilda's Paddy McCartin was involved in a heavy collision during the first quarter, but after some time on the bench he returned to finish out the game. Teammate Bailey Rice received treatment for a sore hip during the opening term, before playing out the match.

- At Bomberland, Orazio Fantasia had a right leg issue in the first term and James Stewart a left calf problem in the third quarter, but both played out the game.
