CARLTON could be bolstered by the return of spearhead Levi Casboult and midfielder Matthew Kennedy for Saturday's clash against Fremantle at Etihad Stadium, but will be without skipper Marc Murphy for at least another two weeks.

Casboult (ribs) and Kennedy (ankle) have been sidelined since round seven, but the Blues are hopeful both will be available for the Dockers clash.

"Levi has been out for quite some time with that fractured rib," Carlton football manager Andrew McKay told the club's website on Tuesday.

"He's been training well over the past couple of weeks. He'll still need to get through training and we'll need to test him at the end of the week, but we are hopeful he'll be available for selection.

"Matthew has had bone bruising on that ankle of his. He'll be a test at the end of the week. Again, he'll need to get through the whole week before he's deemed available."

The Blues are also hopeful of regaining Alex Silvagni (Achilles tendon) and Jarrod Pickett (wrist) this round, but both are likely to return via the VFL given they have yet to play a game this season.

McKay said key defender Caleb Marchbank (ankle) was on track to return in round 14 against Collingwood, but did not expect to get Murphy (plantar fascia) back for at least another week after that.

"Caleb has been dealing with that bone bruising around his ankle. He's still another week or so away before we can consider him," McKay said.

"Marc has been out for a few weeks now with that plantar fascia injury. We're managing that really conservatively too, so he'll still be another two to three weeks away from returning."
