WHAT an amazing round! Finally, the players are catching on to what us coaches have been drilling into them for the last 16 weeks and produced some ridiculously high scores as a result. In fact, 16 players scored over 120 which has to be some sort of a record.

Devon Smith had a field day against the Pies, not only continuing his great tackling form with 13, but racking up possessions with 31. He managed to take eight marks on his way to 150 and would now be considered the premier forward of the competition following his new-found ceiling.

Honourable mention: Andrew Gaff was my No.1 trade target this week and he certainly didn’t let any of his coaches down. He was outstanding throughout the day, but best of all he didn’t go missing in junk time, eventually finishing on 146 from 41 possessions, six marks, three tackles and two goals to continue his love affair with the new home ground.

Rage trades

Patrick Dangerfield Is he a midfielder? Is he a forward? I don’t have the answer, all I know is he isn’t scoring. In another underwhelming performance, Danger found the ball 19 times and kicked a goal for 76 points, a far cry from what we have come to expect since his move to Geelong.

Honourable mention: Lachie Neale has historically scored well in the absence of Nat Fyfe but unfortunately that wasn’t the case this week with an awful score of just 57. Understandably, it was a tough match-up against the restrictive Demons, but just five kicks from his 18 possessions isn’t what his coaches expect from the little magnet.

Brad Lynch proved to be a great downgrade target with another great performance in his second game. He became extremely relevant to Kade Simpson owners following his late withdrawal and suddenly Lynch’s 72 points from with five marks was like gold.

Haha yep, that was the highly active junk time I was talking about. Well done, Gaffy.

Absolutely brutal! I hope you had decent cover.

High priority to say the least, mate!

He is a star, has been a forgotten man this year and maybe this will wake people up.
