PORT Adelaide star Robbie Gray is likely to recover from a concussion in time to face Greater Western Sydney at Adelaide Oval on Sunday.

Gray was knocked out and stretchered from the ground after a sling tackle from Fremantle's Ryan Nyhuis in last Sunday's nine-point loss to the Dockers at Optus Stadium.

Gray joined in the warm-up at the Power's training session at Adelaide Oval on Wednesday night.

He was expected to jog laps after that and not complete the full session.

Speaking earlier on Adelaide radio station FIVEaa, Power coach Ken Hinkley remained hopeful Gray would recover in time to face the Giants.

"He's likely," Hinkley said.

"Straight after the game, Robbie pulled up really well from a pretty bad knock, but his memory was all good.

"He couldn't actually remember the absolute moment, but he remembered the first part of the game and the last part of the game.

"He wasn't unwell, he wasn't sick. He hasn't had any symptoms. We wouldn't take a chance.

"He's too good a person and anything to do with concussion, there's no grey area, you don't take a risk if he's unwell."

Ruckman Paddy Ryder has been ruled out of the game with the Giants with a hip flexor injury, while young forward Todd Marshall is set to miss at least a week with an ankle injury.

Hinkley also said there was a chance uncapped defender Jarrod Lienert could be the Power's first debutant this season.
