The AFL advises the Tribunal will sit at 5pm tonight, Tuesday August 7, to hear the charge laid against West Coast’s Andrew Gaff from the weekend’s round 20 matches. Please also find below the details of those sanctions accepted.

AFL Tribunal, 5pm, Tuesday August 7:
Andrew Gaff, West Coast Eagles, has been charged with striking Andrew Brayshaw, Fremantle, during the third quarter of the Round 20 match between the West Coast Eagles and Fremantle, played at Optus Stadium on Sunday August 5, 2018.

Based on available video evidence and a medical report from the Fremantle Football Club, the incident was assessed as intentional contact with severe impact to the head.

Jacob Hopper, GWS Giants, has been charged with making careless contact with umpire Leigh Fisher during the third quarter of the Round 20 match between Carlton and the GWS Giants, played at Etihad Stadium on Sunday August 5, 2018.

Based on the available evidence the incident was classified as carless contact with an umpire. A third offence for careless umpire contact is classified as a $4,000 sanction.

Cale Hooker, Essendon, has accepted a $2000 sanction for striking Ryan Schoenmakers, Hawthorn, during the fourth quarter of the Round 20 match between Hawthorn and Essendon, played at the MCG on Saturday August 4, 2018.

Dyson Heppell, Essendon, has accepted a $1000 sanction for making careless contact with umpire Robert Findlay during the fourth quarter of the Round 20 match between Hawthorn and Essendon, played at the MCG on Saturday August 4, 2018.

Aaron Francis, Essendon, has accepted a $2000 sanction for engaging in rough conduct against Jaeger O’Meara, Hawthorn, during the fourth quarter of the Round 20 match between Hawthorn and Essendon, played at the MCG on Saturday August 4, 2018.

Ben Cunnington, North Melbourne, has accepted a $2000 sanction for striking Dayne Beams, Brisbane Lions, during the third quarter of the Round 20 match between the Brisbane Lions and North Melbourne, played at the Gabba on Saturday August 4, 2018.

Christian Petracca, Melbourne, has accepted a $1000 sanction for making careless contact with umpire Nick Foot during the first quarter of the Round 20 match between Melbourne and the Gold Coast Suns, played at the MCG on Sunday August 5, 2018.

Alex Sexton, Gold Coast Suns, has accepted a $2000 sanction for engaging in rough conduct against Nathan Jones, Melbourne, during the second quarter of the Round 20 match between Melbourne and the Gold Coast Suns, played at the MCG on Sunday August 5, 2018.

Sean Darcy, Fremantle, has accepted a $1000 sanction for engaging in a melee during the third quarter of the Round 20 match between the West Coast Eagles and Fremantle, played at Optus Stadium on Sunday August 5, 2018.
