ADELAIDE defender Brodie Smith is a late scratching for Sunday's game against North Melbourne at Adelaide Oval, with Jake Kelly coming into the Crows' side.

Smith has been ruled out with a corked calf.

He had played two games since missing 10 months with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee sustained in last year's finals series.

The 26-year-old returned to his best in last Saturday night's 14-point loss to Greater Western Sydney in Canberra, finishing the game with 29 disposals and six rebound 50s.

His absence is a boost for the Kangaroos as they aim to keep their finals hopes alive.

On Saturday, Crows key defender Alex Keath was ruled out with a hamstring injury, with Andy Otten taking his spot in the side.
