Steven Motlop, Port Adelaide, has been charged with engaging in misconduct against Brayden Maynard, Collingwood, during the third quarter of the Round 22 match between Collingwood and Port Adelaide, played at the MCG on Saturday August 18, 2018.

Other matters assessed:
Contact between the GWS Giants’ Nick Haynes and the Sydney Swans’ Luke Parker was assessed. Following a marking contest, Parker ruffles the hair of Haynes who then makes contact with his forearm to Parker’s hip. A 50-metre penalty was paid at the time. It was the view of the Match Review Officer that there was insufficient force to classify a reportable offence, and the matter was dealt with on-field at the time by the officiating umpire. No further action was taken.

Contact between Melbourne’s Oscar McDonald and the West Coast Eagles’ Jack Darling was assessed. Darling takes possession of the ball and is tackled to the ground by McDonald. It was the view of the Match Review Officer that the tackle was not unreasonable in the circumstances. No further action was taken.

Contact between the Adelaide Crows’ Tom Doedee and North Melbourne’s Jed Anderson was assessed. As Doedee attempts to take possession of the ball Anderson elects to bump with contact made to Dodee’s shoulder. It was the view of the Match Review Officer Anderson’s bump was not unreasonable in the circumstances. No further action was taken.
