MELBOURNE midfielder and AFL Exchange co-host Angus Brayshaw has scoffed at suggestions that the Demons should trade injured forward Jesse Hogan on the back of Sam Weideman’s dominant performance against Geelong.

Brayshaw labelled the storyline ‘a very, very knee-jerk type of reaction’ and was confident that a Melbourne forward line of Hogan, Weideman and Tom McDonald could function successfully in the future.

"It was a terrific performance (from Weideman), but people are very quick to discount the amount of work that 'Hoges' has done for us throughout the season. He’s been a superstar for us for a very long time," Brayshaw said.
