YOUNG Collingwood midfielder Brayden Sier has been put through a fitness test on the eve of the Pies' preliminary final clash against Richmond.

The 20-year-old copped a knock to his left quad during last Saturday night's semi-final win over Greater Western Sydney, but has been hindered by the corkie this week.

He managed to play out the game despite battling in the second half, and received treatment several times in the Collingwood rooms.

Sier was restricted to jogging laps during Wednesday's training session, with the club giving him an extra 24 hours to recover from the corked thigh.

Coach Nathan Buckley told reporters he was confident the midfielder would be right to face the Tigers.

On Thursday morning, the Magpie jogged a few laps with teammate Chris Mayne before taking part in some agility drills.

Sier also did several sprints to test out his thigh, which was heavily strapped, but appeared to be moving reasonably well.
