The club has been searching for a new list manager since Brad Lloyd departed the club in August to take up the role as head of football at Carlton.

It is believed the Dockers may have slightly adjusted the role's responsibilities compared to what Lloyd undertook.

David Walls heads the club's recruiting team, including at last week's NAB AFL Draft when the Dockers selected bolter Sam Sturt with their first-round selection.

Micallef began his recruiting journey at Adelaide, where he was part of the team of scouts for two years before winning a role at Essendon as a football analyst in 2011.

He then moved into the Bombers' recruiting team in 2012 where he continued before departing for the Suns at the beginning of last year.
