Steven May will wear the No.1 guernsey for Melbourne next season

MELBOURNE recruit Steven May will wear the No.1 jumper in his first season at the club in 2019.

May has inherited the guernsey from former spearhead Jesse Hogan, who has departed for Fremantle.

The Demons parted with draft pick number six to land May and former Gold Coast teammate Kade Kolodjashnij, which only became possible after Hogan was sent to Fremantle in a deal for picks six and 23.

Kolodjashnij will wear the No.16 jumper following Dean Kent's departure for St Kilda.
