INJURY-PLAGUED Collingwood gun Jamie Elliott was on limited duties in the club's first session of the year on Wednesday following his hamstring scare just before Christmas.
He didn't take part in the 2km time trial at the Holden Centre, won by Tom Phillips, and while Elliott joined the main group for much of the session, the 26-year-old left the track earlier than the rest of his teammates in what appeared to be a planned move.
CLUB LISTS COMPARED Oldest? Youngest? Most experienced?
Veterans Dayne Beams and Chris Mayne didn't join the squad on the track, but a club spokesperson said the pair trained indoors.
Several players joined Elliott in skipping the race, including Adam Treloar, who completed the session that followed.
Full steam ahead.
