RICHMOND premiership duo David Astbury and Kamdyn McIntosh have penned contract extensions at Punt Road, taking the pair through to 2021.

Both were set to come out of contract at season's end, though have renewed their existing deals with the Tigers for a further two seasons each.

Astbury, 28, has played 119 games for Richmond and was a key member of the impressive backline that propelled the side to its drought-breaking 2017 premiership victory.

McIntosh, 25, is 89 games into his Tigers career and has developed into one of the competition's hardest running outside players in recent years.

"Kamdyn and Dave have both been consistent contributors for a number of years and are both popular and important members of our playing group," list manager Blair Hartley said.

"They're extremely hardworking and determined players that have set a high standard for their teammates.

"We look forward to watching them across the next two seasons as we continue to push for more success."

Richmond is likely to now turn its attentions towards re-signing restricted free agent and fellow premiership player Brandon Ellis, who is attracting significant rival interest.

As reported by AFL.com.au, Ellis has parked contract negotiations recently as Victorian rivals Carlton, North Melbourne and Essendon monitor his ongoing situation.
