PORT Adelaide has delisted youngsters Riley Grundy and Boyd Woodcock, but has committed to retaining the pair at next month's NAB AFL Rookie Draft.

Grundy and Woodcock had a year to run on their initial two-year contracts after being taken with the 73rd and 76th picks respectively in last year's AFL Draft.

"We'd like to approach the upcoming draft with as much flexibility as we can from a list numbers perspective," Port Adelaide's General Manager of Football Chris Davies said.

"Both Boyd and Riley are aware of this and have worked with us on this decision, putting the club’s needs first.

"As players, both boys have shown significant development in their football this year and we look forward to seeing more improvement when they return to Port Adelaide in 2020."

Woodcock, 19, kicked 22 goals in 21 SANFL games this year, while the small forward was also named as an emergency for the Power's round 19 game against Greater Western Sydney.

Key defender Grundy – the younger brother of Collingwood star Brodie – played 14 SANFL games having had a knee injury at the start of the season while also missing games with a broken finger.
