GEELONG forward Ryan Gamble has left hospital after landing heavily on his head in Friday’s win over the Bulldogs, while Paul Chapman has a compound dislocation in his finger.

Gamble was flying for a grab against Bulldogs defender Dale Morris in the 24-minute mark of the second term when he landed on his side in the forward pocket.

It seemed as if Gamble had landed on his back, but replays showed that his head bounced on the ground.

He attempted to stand up and leave the ground but struggled to keep his balance.

After a lengthy delay he was stretchered off the ground and taken by ambulance to Epworth Hospital to for treatment for concussion.

But by the end of the game he had already left hospital and early indications were that he is fine.

Chapman left the field in agony midway through the final quarter in agony after a contest.

Geelong coach Mark Thompson confirmed the injury after the match.

“I’m a bit of a scaredy cat, I don’t like looking at those things. I haven’t really spoken to the doctor,” Thompson said.

“He’s got a compound thing which means his bone was sticking out of his skin, which I don’t really want to look at.”

It was unclear how much football, if any, the pair would miss.
