RICHMOND caretaker coach Jade Rawlings clearly signaled the club's intentions for the rest of the season on Thursday with five experienced campaigners dropped in favour of youth ahead of round 12 of the Toyota AFL Premiership season.

Troy Simmonds, Mark Coughlan, Joel Bowden, Jordan McMahon and Kayne Pettifer were all omitted after Rawlings' first selection meeting in charge at Punt Road.

First-round draft pick Tyrone Vickery heads the list of young inclusions that also includes Angus Graham, Robin Nahas, Shane Edwards and Tom Hislop for Saturday night's clash with the Eagles at Docklands.

Vickery will play his first game after being selected eighth overall at the 2008 NAB AFL Draft.

Even the Tigers' emergency list has a youthful look with Jake King, Jarrad Oakley-Nicholls and Adam Thomson hopeful of a late call up.

West Coast will unveil its own most recent first rounder with Nic Naitanui to make his much-anticipated debut.

The athletic ruck prospect was the No.2 pick at the last national draft and comes into the side with Daniel Kerr and David Wirrpanda.

Andrew Embley (ankle), Adam Hunter (shoulder) and Ben McKinley (omitted) will not make the trip to Melbourne.

Carlton has dropped forward Brad Fisher from the side to take on the unbeaten Saints on Friday night with Jordan Bannister in for his first game of the 2009 season.

Fisher is an emergency along with Mitch Robinson and Mark Austin.

St Kilda regains Michael Gardiner from suspension, but loses Steven King after he chose to take an early plea that sees him out for four weeks for his high hit on Kangaroo Sam Power.

Stephen Milne and Sam Gilbert also return with Raphael Clarke and James Gwilt omitted.

The Western Bulldogs receive a huge boost up forward in the form of Robert Murphy and Scott Welsh who make their returns ahead of Saturday night's match against the Power in Darwin.

Brennan Stack and Stephen Tiller make way, but have been named as emergencies along with Tim Callan.

Port Adelaide regains Daniel Motlop and Robbie Gray for the Top End clash and has promoted former Tiger Danny Meyer from the rookie list for his club debut.

Travis Boak (knee), Alipate Carlile (virus) and Nick Lower (omitted) depart the side that defeated Fremantle.

Campbell Brown and Tom Murphy go straight into Hawthorn's starting 18 for Sunday's match against the Brisbane Lions at Aurora Stadium.

Beau Dowler, Josh Kennedy and Jarryd Morton are named on the bench in the 25-man squad.

Cyril Rioli departs with a hamstring injury while youngster Liam Shiels is out with a virus.

The Brisbane Lions' bad run with injury continues with Josh Drummond ruled out with a calf strain, but at least there is some respite with Daniel Merrett and Troy Selwood returning after spells on the sidelines.

Untried duo Tom Rockliff and Jack Redden come onto an expanded bench.

Adelaide skipper Simon Goodwin will miss the Sunday twilight clash against the Kangaroos at AAMI Stadium after picking up a knee injury in the win against Essendon.

Brent Reilly, Jared Petrenko, Tony Armstrong and James Sellar have been included on a seven-man bench.

Jack Ziebell, Lachie Hansen and Corey Jones are back for North Melbourne with Cruize Garlett also included for his first AFL match.

Daniel Harris, Michael Wundke and Levi Greenwood are named on an expanded bench.

Matt Campbell (hamstring), Sam Wright (knee), Ben Warren (cheekbone) and Daniel Wells (hip/groin) are all casualties from the side that fell to the Saints last week.
