Hall not on Dogs' radar, says Eade

WESTERN BULLDOGS coach Rodney Eade says his club has no intention of pursuing Sydney Swan Barry Hall, even if the powerful forward is a free agent come season's end.

The immediate future of Hall is under a cloud after a series of ill-disciplined acts led his coach Paul Roos to publicly question the 32-year-old's worth to the club.

A tall marking option up forward has long been sought after by the Dogs and when Hall's name was raised during contract negotiations last year, Eade said he would seriously consider bringing him back to Melbourne.

But the Bulldogs coach said on Wednesday that Hall was not on the club's wish list as a possible off-season acquisition.

"I haven't thought about it. I don't think he's on our radar. We've got a couple of good young lads up forward," Eade said.

"We've got a campaign of 10 weeks ahead so that is what we're looking at. We've got a couple of good young forwards; how they can develop only time will tell."

In other news, Eade said either Sam Reid or Dylan Addison was likely to come into the team for the injured Daniel Giansiracusa.

A number of Bulldogs did not take part in Wednesday's main training session, including Lindsay Gilbee, Jason Akermanis, Robert Murphy and Shaun Higgins.

Eade said the precautions were taken because of the six-day break between games.

"We'll have our main session later in the week. Aker has got a bit of a sore throat, Murph and Higgins it is part of their program anyway. Gilbee has had that ankle but he is improving. He trained yesterday and he'll train tomorrow," he said.

The Bulldogs coach said the loss of Giansiracusa would be a big blow for his side.

"His last five, six, seven weeks have been fantastic. I think he showed his leadership qualities on the weekend to be able to come back and play through that pain. To be able to not only play but have a great impact on the game; he kicked three goals and set goals up. He'll be missed."
