RICHMOND veteran Joel Bowden has called a press conference this afternoon to announce his playing intentions beyond this season.

The 31-year-old is expected to announce Saturday's game against Collingwood will be his last, after a 264-game career that began in 1996.

Coach Jade Rawlings has already indicated he is set to recall Bowden to the senior side, after omitting him ahead of his first game in the caretaker role in round 12.

Bowden has already said he expected Saturday to be his final game in the yellow and black.

"Looks like the game against Collingwood will be my last for the Richmond football club," Bowden said on SEN.

"Hopefully it all goes well, that I can acquit myself well, play a good game and finish with Richmond on a high note and beat the Pies, who are playing good footy at the moment."

Bowden will speak at Punt Road at 3pm on Wednesday.
