THE FULL list of discarded players who have nominated for next week's NAB AFL Draft has been released and former Lions defender Joel Macdonald's name isn't on it.

The omission heightens speculation that Macdonald has agreed to a deal that will see him picked up in the pre-season draft on December 15, possibly by Melbourne which has the first pick.

Macdonald, 25, ran a Princes Park time trial with the Kangaroos early last week but is not training with the club.

Delisted by the Lions after seeking a trade last month, Macdonald played 80 games in six seasons for them.

Twenty-two of those were this season, however, he was left out the elimination and semi finals.

Graham Polak's name is also missing from the list as he is hoping to be taken by Richmond in December's rookie draft.

As expected, former Saint Luke Ball has nominated, but with Collingwood, the Lions, Essendon and Melbourne showing interest in him, his future is unlikely to be known until his name is called out on draft night.

Also appearing on the list are Carlton's Cameron Cloke, Melbourne's Russell Robertson, North Melbourne's Jesse Smith, Lion Rhan Hooper and Hawthorn's Mitch Thorp.

Smith (Hawthorn), Hooper (Richmond) and Thorp (Melbourne) have joined those clubs for pre-season training in the hope of being re-drafted.

Jarryd Allen retired in August because of a chronic hip injury and though he is not looking to play on, it is believed his nomination is related to St Kilda's list management.

Michael Newton and John Meesen are named as well, with the Demons to rookie-list them if no other club takes them.

Adam McPhee, who walked out on Essendon on Tuesday, will nominate for the pre-season draft with Fremantle keen to secure him.
