Bio: The injury-prone half-back managed just two games for the North Ballarat reserves this year and re-injured his hamstring in the second of them. Frustrated with the Roos' facilities, he knocked back a new contract and asked the club to trade him. Unsuccessful, he was delisted and started training with Hawthorn. Smith showed his immense talent across 19 games in a breakout 2007 season.
