PORT Adelaide has delisted forward Glenn Dawson, clearing the way for a pick in the NAB AFL Pre-season Draft on Tuesday, December 15.

The move will increase speculation that the Power are keen to draft former Carlton ruckman/forward Cameron Cloke, who was invited to train with the club in the lead-up to the NAB AFL Draft but was unable to do so because of shoulder surgery.

Dawson was taken with pick No.66 in the 2008 NAB AFL Draft, but did not play a senior match.

Power football operations manager Peter Rohde said Dawson would continue to train with the club in the lead-up to the NAB AFL Rookie Draft, also on December 15.

"The club has decided it would like a pick in the pre-season draft and to do that we needed to delist a player," Rohde said.

"Unfortunately that player is Glenn Dawson. Glenn played most of the season in the Woodville-West Torrens reserves and is currently overcoming a bout of glandular fever."

West Coast has also confirmed the retirement of veteran utility Tyson Stenglein, which means the Eagles will also have a selection in the pre-season draft.

Stenglein played 208 senior matches for the Eagles and Adelaide after making his debut in 1999.

A final selection order for the pre-season draft will be confirmed in the next week after club total player payment estimates have been confirmed by the AFL, but Port Adelaide is likely to have pick six and West Coast pick five.

The draft nomination deadline for delisted primary list players is December 8.
