Around 2,000 local residents from Pakenham and surrounding areas braved the heat to attend Hawks regional training at Pakenham Junior Football Club.

Following training players ran a skills clinic for young supporters which included kicking, hand-balling, marking and running drills.

Members of the Pakenham Football Club pleased the crowd with a sausage sizzle and received a helping hand from Hawthorn’s General manager of membership and community, Greg Cook who wasn’t afraid to sweat over a hot plate to bring the fans some much appreciated tucker.

Club mascot ‘Hawka’ tried his best to keep out of the sun, in an attempt to keep the bright yellow glow to his feathers, but once again took the opportunity to build his photo albums on his facebook page.

The Premiership Cup also made the journey down to Pakenham and local residents eagerly lined up for a photo with the Cup for a donation of a gold coin. All money raised will go to the Windermere Organisation.
