GOOD behaviour was the unofficial theme of round five, with just Port Adelaide's Troy Chaplin and Melbourne's Jared Rivers attracting the attention of the match review panel on Monday.
Both players have been charged with minor offences and are not facing suspension, after a friendly round where just eight incidents were reviewed by the panel.
Chaplin can accept a reprimand and 70.31 points for striking St Kilda captain Nick Riewoldt, with a five-year positive record saving him from a one-week suspension.
The incident took place in the second quarter of Friday night's game at AAMI Stadium and was assessed as reckless, of low impact and high contact. It drew 93.75 points after Chaplin's record was considered.
Rivers has been charged with negligently making contact with umpire Justin Schmitt, but unlike Collingwood's Heath Shaw, the Brisbane Lions' Simon Black and Port Adelaide's Matt Thomas' recent compulsory tribunal visits, this incident has just drawn a fine.
The Melbourne defender was not charged with making reckless contact as he did not set up directly behind the umpire. He can accept a $1950 sanction with an early plea.
Also escaping penalties for umpire contact are Essendon's Henry Slattery and Geelong's Max Rooke.
Slattery made “slight” contact with umpire Matt Stevic, while Rooke's actions were deemed "not of an aggressive nature" when he momentarily held Chris Kamolins' shirt after the umpire backed into him.
No further action will be taken against either player.
Match day reports laid against Port Adelaide's Dean Brogan (forceful front-on contact against Farren Ray) and West Coast's Adam Selwood (forceful front-on contact against Chance Bateman) were thrown out by the panel.
Contact between St Kilda's Luke Ball and Port Adelaide's Robert Gray, and Carlton's Ryan Houlihan and the Western Bulldogs' Daniel Giansiracusa was also viewed and deemed legal.
