BRISBANE LIONS
All the trades
2:21 PM Mon 17 October, 2011
UPDATE, 2.00 pm:
Trade Week is now concluded.
UPDATE, 1.59 pm:
The final pick in the 2011 version of trade week was a rather minor exchange between Richmond and Gold Coast.
The Tigers gave up an end of round one compensation pick (it was given to Adelaide as compensation for losing Nathan Bock to Gold Coast and then on-traded to Richmond for Richard Tambling).
In return, Richmond received a round two compensation pick (it was given to Port Adelaide as compo for losing Nathan Krakouer and then traded back to the Suns) and pick 26 in this year's NAB AFL Draft.
Both of the compensation pick can be used in any of the three drafts from 2012 to 2014.

Demons get their man
By Luke Holmesby
12:14 PM Mon 17 October, 2011
MITCH Clark's AFL future has been one of the great unknowns throughout 2011. And even when it was seemingly confirmed, there was still another late twist to come.
Over the past three years Clark has become one of the Lions most important players for his contribution as a ruck/forward.
His growing stature in the game meant that his next contract was going to be a big one and he had more choice than ever over his own destiny.
But there were doubts about how long he would stay in Brisbane as he delayed contract talks with the club.

Demons pull off trade coup
By Michael Tormey
11:53 PM Sat 15 October, 2011
FORMER Brisbane Lion Mitch Clark has made an extraordinary about-face, agreeing to join Melbourne just a day after telling the football world via a Fremantle media release that he was only interested in heading west.
The Demons have swapped their first round NAB AFL Draft selection (No.12 overall) for the ruckman/forward in the most intriguing deal of the player exchange period.
Melbourne said via its Twitter account late on Saturday night that Clark would join the club on a four-year contract.
Although it is unclear whether the rumoured deal of $2.2 million over four years is accurate, Clark's original suitor Fremantle released a statement just before midnight (AEST) on Saturday saying it could not outbid Melbourne for his services.

Lisle on Lions' radar
By Jason Phelan
1:59 PM Sat 15 October, 2011
THE BRISBANE Lions have shown interest in dealing for Hawthorn key position prospect Jordan Lisle, according to his manager Liam Pickering.
AFL.com.au's Trade Week Radio
reported on Saturday that Pickering had confirmed the approach, but he did not shed any light on the likelihood of a deal being done before Monday's 2pm deadline.
Lisle, 21, was recruited from the Oakleigh Chargers with the 50th overall pick at the 2008 NAB AFL Draft.
The versatile big man broke through for his AFL debut against Fremantle in round 11 earlier this year and played five games for the season.

How things change
When Ivan Maric was selected after John Meesen in the third round of the 2004 NAB AFL Draft, the pair was heralded as the Crows' ruck tandem for the next decade, but times have certainly changed. Meesen has been out of the AFL for two years and Maric was traded to Richmond on Friday.
Maric fell behind Sam Jacobs in the pecking order at Adelaide and the
Adelaide Advertiser
reports the Crows' big man was sent to his preferred destination at Punt Road where he will be the No.1 ruckman.

Get me to Fremantle: Clark
By Michael Whiting
8:56 PM Fri 14 October, 2011
BRISBANE Lion Mitch Clark has taken the extraordinary step of notifying the football world via a statement released by Fremantle that he only wants to be traded to Freo.
After six seasons in Brisbane, Clark requested a trade back to his home state Western Australia - preferably to Fremantle - but the two clubs have so far failed to come up with a suitable deal for both parties.
That prompted Melbourne to pitch a multi-million dollar bid - estimated to be up to $2.2 million over four years - for the agile ruckman/forward on Wednesday night.
Despite admitting it was a tempting offer, Clark said he was adamant he wanted to head to Fremantle.
Freo still Clark's preference
By Nathan Schmook and Jennifer Witham
5:44 PM Thu 13 October, 2011
BRISBANE Lions forward Mitch Clark is still on track to move to his preferred club Fremantle by the end of Trade Week, despite fielding what his manager described as an "outstanding" offer from Melbourne late on Wednesday.
Fremantle, which holds selections No.16 and No.20 in this year's NAB AFL Draft, has been the frontrunner to secure Clark from the Lions, but the clubs are yet to agree on a satisfactory trade.
Brisbane Lions list manager Rob Kerr said on Thursday that he was surprised Fremantle was yet to table a formal offer for Clark.

Mitch Clark's trade hopes slide
By Jennifer Witham
1:04 PM Wed 12 October, 2011
MITCH Clark may struggle in his bid to be traded to a Perth club this week while John McCarthy looks increasingly unlikely to be at Collingwood next year, said their respective managers on Wednesday.
It also appears as though Hawthorn defender Rick Ladson could be on his way to Greater Western Sydney with the Giants expressing keen interest in the 27-year-old.
Clark's manager Colin Young said he was growing increasingly concerned a deal with Fremantle - Clark's preferred target - was not going to happen this week with the Brisbane Lions wanting more than the club could offer.

Super deal stalls day two
By Nathan Schmook
5:18 PM Tue 11 October, 2011
A COMPLEX four-club deal that would see prized WA teenager Jaeger O'Meara remain with GWS has seen other deals stall on day two of Trade Week, according to Brisbane Lions national talent manager Rob Kerr.
A series of potential deals, including the Lions and Fremantle's discussions around Mitch Clark, are being held up by the Giants' 17-year-old mini-draft, which takes place next week.
The Giants can trade the rights to four 17-year-olds over the next two seasons, with midfielders O'Meara and Brad Crouch the most highly sought this year ahead of Thursday's 5pm AEDT deadline.
