Sierakowski becomes a Roo

By Mark Macgugan 11:44 AM Fri 14 October, 2011

UNCAPPED Hawthorn rookie Will Sierakowski has been traded to North Melbourne.

In return, the Hawks will receive pick 58 in this year's NAB AFL Draft.

The 21 year-old will go onto the Kangaroos' senior list.

North Melbourne list manager Cameron Joyce said the club had been tracking Sierakowski in the VFL throughout 2011 and were excited to secure him.

"He runs well out of defence and through the middle of the ground and his skill level, especially by foot, is terrific," Joyce told kangaroos.com.au.

"He's also strong overhead.

"We are confident Will has the ability to play senior football in 2012 if an opportunity presents and his sharp improvement continues."

Roos likely to secure Dees' Maric

By Mark Macgugan 8:57 AM Thu 13 October, 2011

MELBOURNE is likely to trade Addam Maric to North Melbourne.

Demons list manager Tim Harrington said the club had held "fruitful" discussions with North about the 21-year-old, who has played 21 games and booted 15 goals since his AFL debut in 2008.

"Addam has indicated that he would like to go there," Harrington told Melbourne radio station SEN 1116 on Thursday morning.

"North are a good club to deal with, so I reckon we'll be able to do a deal there that satisfies us both."

Harrington wouldn't reveal what Melbourne was asking for in return for Maric, or what the Kangaroos had offered up in initial negotiations.

North keep McIntosh, Adams re-signs

By Michael Whiting 5:01 PM Tue 11 October, 2011

NORTH Melbourne chief of football Donald McDonald has guaranteed Hamish McIntosh will be a Kangaroo next season, categorically ruling out trading the ruckman.

Speaking on afl.com.au's Trade Week Radio, McDonald said McIntosh was contracted for the next two seasons and was a required player at North Melbourne.

The 203cm McIntosh struggled for senior action in 2011 with Todd Goldstein having a breakout season in the ruck that saw him earn selection in the 40-man All Australian squad.

With quality ruckmen at a premium, McIntosh's name has been thrown up as a potential trade option, but McDonald was adamant he was off limits.

"We've said it ad nauseam, Hamish isn't up for trade," McDonald said.

Trade week: left at the gates

By staff reporters 5:03 PM Mon 11 October, 2010

ADELAIDE
The Crows were strongly linked to Carlton's Andrew Walker but no deal could be struck.

BRISBANE LIONS
West Australian natives Mitch Clark and Daniel Rich were linked with moves back home but nothing came from that and both should continue with the Lions next year.

CARLTON
Andrew Walker didn't get the clean slate he was after. Adelaide, Port Adelaide and the Western Bulldogs all expressed varying levels of interest, but he was left at the altar each time. Bret Thornton and Setanta O'hAilpin were also hoping to reignite their careers elsewhere, but couldn't find new homes.

Roos grab Richardson

By Katrina Gill 1:56 PM Mon 11 October, 2010

NORTH Melbourne has finally struck a deal to secure North Ballarat defender Cameron Richardson, with the club sending its round-two NAB AFL Draft pick 35 to Gold Coast in exchange for the promising 22-year-old.

Richardson was one of 10 previously drafted or previously nominated players pre-listed by Gold Coast, after starring with the North Ballarat Roosters - North Melbourne's VFL affiliate.

The 189cm half-back flanker was overlooked in the draft as an 18-year-old, after knocking back an invitation to attend the TAC Cup tryout session, which clashed with his first day of work at the local cinema.

Trade winds: Freo to lose Tarrant for nothing

By Katrina Gill 11:38 AM Sun 10 October, 2010

IT IS increasingly likely Fremantle will lose uncontracted defender Chris Tarrant for nothing after Collingwood ruled out giving up pick No.43 in next month's NAB AFL Draft for the 30-year-old.

Tarrant walked out on the Dockers to return to Melbourne at the end of the season and has nominated former club Collingwood as his team of choice.

The Pies, who are aware they can secure the veteran as a free agent in the pre-season or national drafts, are refusing to budge on their offer of pick No.55, according to a report in the Sunday Herald Sun.

Where your club stands

By Michael Rogers, Ben Broad, Jason Phelan and Nathan Schmook 2:01 PM Sat 09 October, 2010

ADELAIDE
Trades confirmed:
Richard Tambling (Richmond) for Adelaide's end-of-first round compensation for losing Nathan Bock, and a third-round draft selection (No.50).
On the table: Jon Griffin is seeking a return home to Western Australia to be closer to his ill father and the Crows are confident they can get a deal done with Fremantle.
Targets: Carlton ruckman Sam Jacobs has requested a trade to Adelaide but the Blues are playing hardball, demanding a first-round draft pick for the uncontracted South Australian. Jacobs has indicated he'll go into the NAB AFL Pre-Season Draft if an agreement between the two clubs can't be reached in the exchange period.

Trade winds: Houli in limbo, GWS eyes key Lion

By Nathan Schmook 10:02 AM Sat 09 October, 2010

RICHMOND may have found a way to secure Carlton midfielder Shaun Grigg, with Tigers forward Andrew Collins emerging as trade bait as the exchange period moves into the weekend.

The Age reports that Carlton is seeking a player in exchange for Grigg, who has expressed his desire to join the Tigers, and the Blues are understood to be interested in Collins.

The 21-year-old Tiger played 15 games this season for a career total of 25 since being recruited with pick No.73 in the 2006 NAB AFL Draft.

Meanwhile, the Tigers' hopes of landing Essendon midfielder Bachar Houli have hit a snag, with the Bombers insisting on a second-round draft pick in exchange for the 22-year-old, according to The Age.
