GEELONG forward Paul Chapman's continued participation in the finals campaign has been thrown into doubt after injury forced him to watch most of the second half of Sunday's qualifying final from the bench.
Chapman, 26, returned to the side from a three-week hamstring tear in round 21, and coach Mark Thompson revealed the forward's immediate future was unclear following the latest setback.
"He got a bad corky and he just jogged off the ground, but it's complicated because he's also got a tight hamstring," Thompson said following the 58-point win over St Kilda.
"The doctors are saying at this stage that it's not torn, but they don't really know – he's got to wait until he gets scanned. I think generally he felt the game was probably in hand and players, if something happens, a switch sort of goes off and he says 'well, I don't want to get injured here'.
"He is tight in his hamstring, but we'll just have to wait and see with the scan."
Chapman has played 154 games for the Cats, including the 2007 premiership triumph, and had recently signed a new four-year deal to stay at the club.
