ST KILDA’S Justin Koschitzke has been cleared to play in this week’s preliminary final against Hawthorn.

Koschitzke was reported for engaging in rough conduct against Collingwood’s Shane Wakelin on Saturday night but his case was thrown out by the match review panel on Monday morning.

Koschitzke had tackled Wakelin and threw him to the ground after disposing the football but the panel ruled that the action was not considered unreasonable because it was all in the one motion with Koschitzke holding Wakelin at all times, and was not two separate motions.

Sydney Swans’ Leo Barry was another to have his match day report thrown out. Barry had been booked for striking Bulldog Shaun Higgins but the panel found Higgins had handballed the ball as Barry swung his arm towards him.

Barry used an open hand in his action and it was deemed as an attempt to intercept the ball, and not a striking motion.

Higgins was involved in another incident with Barry’s teammate Tadhg Kennelly which was also cleared by the panel, while incidents involving Bulldogs Ryan Hargrave and Scott Welsh were assessed and cleared.
