FARREN Ray is now a Saint after the Western Bulldogs dealt their disgruntled midfielder to Moorabbin for selection 31.
The 22-year-old played 13 games in 2008 for a career tally of 75 and, in securing Ray, St Kilda also receives the Dogs' third-round selection (48) in November's NAB AFL Draft.
St Kilda coach Ross Lyon is excited about what Ray will bring to the club.
"We’re rapt to have secured Farren and we welcome him to the St Kilda family," he said.
"We're pleased with the level of depth that Farren will add to our midfield and at 22 he's still young and fits well into our list profile."
Ray played in the Bulldogs' heavy qualifying final loss to Hawthorn and was omitted for the following week's semi against the Sydney Swans.
The West Australian recently advised the club that he wanted to be traded, with a wish to remain in Melbourne.
The Bulldogs were hopeful of retaining Ray, who was selected fourth overall in the 2003 pool.
