COLLINGWOOD defender Simon Prestigiacomo has left the field early in his side's crucial clash with the Brisbane Lions at the MCG on Saturday night.

Prestigiacomo clashed heads with direct opponent Jonathan Brown in one of the first contests of the game.

Brown was fine but a groggy Prestigiacomo was helped from the ground and headed straight into the Collingwood rooms.

The skipper booted two goals in three minutes after Prestigiacomo left and the Lions moved to a handy 18-point lead.
