RICHMOND has pushed for fewer games at Etihad Stadium in 2010, with new chief executive Brendon Gale confirming the club had lobbied for a stronger MCG presence.
In a statement on richmondfc.com.au, Gale acknowledged the recent speculation surrounding next year's fixture - including the prospect of four home games at the Docklands venue.
However, ahead of the fixture's official release on Friday, he said the Tigers were keen to play as many games as possible at a ground they have called home since 1965.
"The fixture has not been finalised as yet, but rest assured our club has been lobbying the AFL to get the best possible outcomes for our members," he said.
"We are fully aware of the historical and emotional ties our supporters have with the MCG and the significance it holds for the Richmond Football Club.
"To this end, we will be pressing for as many of our home games to be played at the 'G as possible."
In 2009, Richmond played eight home games at the MCG, two at Etihad Stadium and one at Gold Coast Stadium against Adelaide in round 14.
Its average attendance at MCG home games was 49,621, with its biggest crowd of 86,972 at the season opener against Carlton.
At Etihad Stadium, its highest home game attendance was 36,483.
