Simonds Stadium, or Kardinia Park as it was known, is Victoria's only venue for AFL Premiership matches outside Melbourne and was built in 1941.
The newest addition to the ground was the magnificent Reg Hickey Stand, opened in 2005 and named in honour of the former player and coach who helped deliver four premierships to Geelong. Formerly known as Kardinia Park, Shell Stadium, Baytec Stadium and Skilled Stadium, Simonds Stadium has been Geelong’s home ground for the past 60 years.
Geelong is 75km down the Princes Highway from Melbourne, via the Westgate Bridge. There is limited parking at Simonds Stadium, so plan to arrive early.
V/Line services services V/Line runs match day services between South Geelong and Spencer Street hourly. Simonds Stadium is a short walk from South Geelong station.
