Sandringham star Lauren Brazzale has earned another crack at the top level after being signed by Richmond for the upcoming AFLW season.
Brazzale played 73 AFLW matches for Carlton and Collingwood across nine seasons, prior to joining the Zebras for the 2025 rebel VFLW season.
The 31-year-old was vice-captain of the inaugural rebel VFLW State Team and played a leading role in the victory over the SANFL at Alberton Oval in the AAMI State Game in April.
Brazzale led Sandringham in its wins over the Darebin Falcons and Casey Demons in the opening two rounds of the 2025 rebel VFLW season, which included the team's first game in its new colours having rebranded from the Southern Saints during the off-season.
Richmond AFLW List Manager, Trent Mosbey, said that Brazzale had earned another chance at AFLW level.
“Lauren’s strength is providing dash and rebound off half back,” Mosbey told the Richmond website.
“She can also penetrate the game with her athleticism, and her accurate kicking can open the game up.
“Lauren has displayed Richmond character traits on and off the field and is highly regarded for her positive, bright energy, leadership, work ethic, professionalism, and strong desire to achieve.
“She is an experienced, versatile player with an elite kick and speed. She plays an eye-catching style that Tigers fans will love to see.
“We are excited to be bringing Lauren to the Swinburne Centre.”
