The Smithy’s VFL teams for Round 19.

Sandringham will field arguably its strongest team of the year when it hosts North Melbourne at Wilson Storage Trevor Barker Beach Oval on Sunday.

The Zebras have included six AFL-listed Saints, including Mattaes Phillipou and Darcy Wilson, while losing only one to the AFL team in Max Heath.

North Melbourne has made eight changes following last week's last-gasp defeat to Geelong, six of which are forced changes.

Wil Dawson and Finnbar Maley return while Matt Clarkson, son of Kangaroos senior coach Alastair, and former Hawthorn-listed midfielder Jack O'Sullivan will make their club debuts.

The Roos will be without promoted duo George Wardlaw and Robert Hansen Jnr, along with injured quartet Zac Fisher, Eddie Ford, Brayden George and Josh Goater.

Frankston's push for a top-four spot has taken a hit with Tom Murphy and Jackson Voss sidelined by calf and hamstring injuries respectively. Murphy is expected to miss two weeks, while Voss could be sidelined for a month.

Luckless midfielder Taj Campbell-Farrell returns for his third game of the year against Carlton on Saturday, having last featured in Round 3.

The Blues have made four changes with Alex Cincotta and Hudson O'Keeffe returning, while Northern Knights and Vic Metro midfielder Tyson Gresham will make his debut.

Southport will be without emerging star Tai Hayes and suspended veteran Jesse Joyce when it hosts ladder-leaders the Box Hill Hawks at Fankhauser Reserve on Saturday.

Hayes, who this week received an invited to the Telstra AFL State Draft Combine, will miss with a leg issue, while Joyce is serving a two-match suspension following last week’s win over Williamstown.

The Hawks have made five changes for the top-three clash, with Bailey Macdonald returning but Seamus Mitchell and Cody Anderson out injured, defender Sam Durdin ill and Ben Cavarra rested for the trip north.

Will Graham returns for his first game since May when the Gold Coast Suns host Richmond at People First Stadium.

Graham injured his shoulder in the Suns' Round 10 AFL win over the Western Bulldogs and will play his comeback game alongside Leo Lombard and Suns Academy prospect Beau Addinsall, who will make his third VFL appearance of the year.

Jacob Koschitzke replaces Harry Armstrong for Richmond, while highly-touted Oakleigh Chargers midfielder Sam Grlj will make his VFL debut for the Tigers.

Sydney has made nine forced changes for its clash with Essendon as it chases a third-straight victory. Caiden Cleary, Oli Florent and Peter Ladhams have been recalled to the AFL team with draftee Jesse Dattoli for his debut, while five Academy products are unavailable.

Aaron Francis and Matt Roberts have been omitted from the AFL team, while Academy duo Harry Cameron and Aidan McCartney will make their VFL debuts.

Saad El-Hawli and Zac Johnson are among six inclusions for Essendon, while Jayden Nguyen will become the 14th Bomber to make his AFL debut after picking up 19 disposals in last week's defeat to Footscray.

Williamstown has received a boost for its crunch match with Collingwood at DSV Stadium, with Finn O'Dwyer, Cam Polson, Nick Ebinger and Mitch Cox all coming in as the Seagulls look to end a three-game losing streak.

Collingwood regains Roan Steele among five changes, with Jordan De Goey and Bobby Hill going straight into the AFL team after featuring in last week's defeat at Frankston.

Footscray has named a strong side for its top-four clash with the GWS Giants at Mission Whitten Oval which will kickstart Round 19.

The Bulldogs will again field 17 AFL-listed players as they hunt a ninth-straight win to strengthen their hold on second spot.

The only change for the home side is Luca Muratore replacing goal kicker Will Lewis who is unavailable.

The Giants have made six changes as they look to respond to last week’s loss to crosstown rival Sydney at ENGIE Stadium.

Young goal kicker Nathan Wardius returns from injury for his first game since Round 11, having booted 30 goals in 10 matches in the first half of the season.

Wardius is the only AFL-listed inclusion, while Harry Rowston and Harvey Thomas have been called up to the AFL team.

BROADCAST AND STREAMING: All matches in the 2025 Smithy’s VFL season will be live streamed free via the AFL website, AFL Live Official App and VFL App. The Seven Network will broadcast a match live and free on 7mate in Victoria and 7plus Sport nationally every Saturday night.
