The AFL has confirmed the two Qualifying Finals for Week One of the 2025 Toyota AFL Finals Series:
Thursday, 4 September
First Qualifying Final, Adelaide Crows v Collingwood, Adelaide Oval, 7.40pm AEST/ 7.10pm local
Friday, 5 September
Second Qualifying Final, Geelong Cats v Brisbane Lions, MCG, 7.40pm AEST
The minor Premiers the Adelaide Crows will host Collingwood in the first Qualifying Final on Thursday night, followed by the Geelong Cats, who will take on the reigning Premiers, the Brisbane Lions, on Friday night in the second Qualifying Final at the MCG.
AFL Head of Strategy and Scheduling Josh Bowler acknowledged the race for the remaining finals spots was still on.
“Wednesday night’s rescheduled game still has an impact on the final eight but with the top four locked in we wanted to give fans some certainty and allow them to plan,” said Bowler.
“We still have an incredibly exciting final match of the home and away season to come with the Gold Coast SUNS playing for a spot in their first finals series.
“On behalf of the AFL I would like to thank the more than seven million fans who have attended matches so far this season and the millions more who tuned in, along with every club, player, coach, umpire, staff member, and all our commercial and broadcast partners.”
The GWS GIANTS and Fremantle will host the two Elimination Finals on Saturday September 6 with the match ups and timeslots to be confirmed following the completion of the Gold Coast SUNS vs Essendon game on Wednesday night.
Earlier this month, the AFL announced for the 10th year running a price freeze on entry level tickets for all Finals matches across Weeks One to Three.
Tickets for the two Qualifying Finals will go on sale on Thursday with timings to be confirmed later today.
All matches in Week One of the 2025 Toyota AFL Finals Series will be broadcast live nationally on the Seven Network and Fox Footy and streamed live on Kayo.
The 2025 Toyota AFL Grand Final will be held at the MCG on Saturday, September 27 at 2:30pm AEST.
