The Eastern Ranges claimed the Coates Talent League Girls premiership for the first time with a 38-point triumph over the Dandenong Stingrays in the Grand Final.
The Ranges booted a goal in the opening minute and went on to lead throughout the premiership decider to run away with a 10.8 (68) to 4.6 (30) victory at IKON Park.
The victory ensured the Ranges went one better than the past two seasons, when they were beaten by the Oakleigh Chargers in consecutive Grand Finals.
Skipper Tayla McMillan produced a masterclass in the midfield, winning the best on ground medal after picking up a game-high 29 disposals and laying three tackles.
Emily Rankin (25 disposals, five tackles), Brylee Anderson (22 disposals, one goal) and Jordyn Allen (20 disposals, four marks) were also prolific, while Josie Bamford picked up 19 possessions to go with 17 hitouts.
Matilda Argus fought hard for Dandenong and laid 11 tackles in addition to picking up 16 touches, while captain Charlotte Hewitson (20 disposals, five tackles) and Mizuki Brothwell (17 disposals, seven marks) never gave in.
Eastern raced to a 19-point lead at quarter time on the back of two late goals to finish the opening term and had the game safely in their keeping when Briannan Lambe and Zoe Wilkinson kicked the last two goals of the second term to open a 26-point advantage at the main break.
The Ranges continued to assert their dominance in an explosive third term, when they piled on four unanswered goals, which included three in a five-minute purple patch.
Dandenong fought the game out and put together its best football in the final term, kicking three of the final four goals.
