FANS will be able to revel in the excitement of Origin across a jam-packed week of fun family activations, entertainment and an open training session at Optus Stadium as Perth prepares to welcome the historic return of state representative football for the 2026 AAMI AFL Origin.
Victoria and Western Australia will take to Optus Stadium on the eve of Origin on Friday 13 February for a free open training session allowing fans to see some of their favourite players up close, snap a selfie and pocket their heroes’ autograph.
Across Friday and Saturday, Footy Fest will provide free family fun for fans of all ages, with activations from AFL Play and the AAMI Lucky Kick, as well as customised footy cards thanks to Macca’s, a personalised Sherrin station and more, all located in Stadium Park outside Optus Stadium.
Fans will also be able to browse the markets showcasing some of the best Western Australian products, purchase their Origin merch and enjoy live entertainment from a range of local West Australian musicians.
Footy Fest on the Friday night will see Australia's #1 Sports podcast & creator channel Dan Does Footy bring their wild LIVE show to the Footy Fest stage, with fans able to attend for free and hear from renowned content creator and former AFL player Dan Gorringe and a number of special guests.
Throughout the week, fans can also take part in the AFL Origin Hunt - a scavenger hunt through Perth CBD, plus head to Forrest Place to grab all their Origin merchandise from the Origin Locker Room and snap a selfie in front of the giant Sherrin.
In a nod to Western Australian football, the Western Australian Government, through Tourism WA, is celebrating the passion, history and pride synonymous with Origin football and have worked closely with WA Football on a range of activations including the Matagarup Bridge activation featuring Sandover Medal and Hall of Fame legends.
Victorian player, and Fremantle star Caleb Serong said the excitement is building for 2026 AAMI AFL Origin.
“I am pumped to have the opportunity to play for Victoria and put on a show for the sold-out crowd in Perth, there’s already a lot of excitement building for the match.
“There is something for everyone to join in and celebrate the occasion, all the fan friendly activities sound awesome and I can’t wait to see all the Victorian and West Australian fans at the open training on Friday afternoon.”
The 2026 AAMI AFL Origin will be delivered with the support of the Western Australian Government, through Tourism WA, and showcase the best of the state to fans all over the country.

Origin Footy Fest
Origin Footy Fest will take place in Stadium Park, outside Optus Stadium on Friday 13 (3pm-8pm) and Saturday 14 February (1.30pm-5pm). Footy Fest will include a mix of live entertainment, free activations, merchandise available for purchase, local WA market stalls, Dan Does Footy Podcast (Friday only), roving entertainment, and activations from AAMI, McDonald’s, Bunnings and Sportsbet.
AAMI
Lucky Kick – attendees can test their kicking skills by aiming for the AAMI Centre Circle as the target for the chance to win tickets.
Macca’s
Player Card Photobooth – attendees will be able to create their own personalized Player Card.
Play and Win area – A range of activities, including plinko boards, handball games and spinny wheels, all offering the chance to win prizes, along with the iconic Macca’s swings.
Bunnings
Sausage sizzle and hat giveaway – attendees come down to the classic Bunning’s sausage sizzle where they will also be giving away Bunning’s straw hats.
AFL PLAY Zone
West Australia Football Commission will have free activities for families including a handball inflatable, colouring in, games and giveaways.
Australian Skin Care Foundation Truck
Fans can engage in a skin check to receive guidance on their skin health.
Seven
Seven Network will broadcast the match live on the amphitheatre screen on Saturday.
Origin Locker Room
The Origin Locker Room pop-up store will provide fans with the opportunity to purchase all their merchandise for the big game, including a range from iconic WA streetwear brand Street X, a retro range from Mitchell and Ness, as well as products from Yeti, Sherrin and more. The Locker Room will be open Tuesday 10 February – Friday 13 February at Forrest Place.
AFL Origin Hunt
The Origin Hunt kicks off on Wednesday of Origin week, an interactive scavenger hunt that takes fans to key locations in Perth City, while chasing the ultimate prize.
Fans will track down check points including Forrest Place and stop at various points along the way throughout Perth CBD and Optus Stadium, with daily spot prizes up for grabs.
Open Training
Open training will take place from 3.30pm on Friday 13 February. Entry is via Gate D at Optus Stadium and free for fans to attend.

The State Library foyer will display a selection of treasures from the Graham ‘Polly’ Farmer collection.
