ADELAIDE is yet to finalise its coaching structure for next season under new senior coach Matthew Nicks.

The former Port Adelaide and Greater Western Sydney senior assistant coach was appointed as Don Pyke's successor last week.

Matthew Clarke, who has been the Crows' ruck coach since 2008 and is also coach of the club's AFLW side, told reporters on Monday that he wasn't sure if he would continue in his AFL role next year.

"It's not resolved yet," Clarke said.

"Matty Nicks is just getting his feet under the desk so we'll let him get settled back into Adelaide and all that will play out over the next month or so.

"It's an enjoyable role to be able to be part of both programs so that (continuing) will be the intent, but we'll wait and see."

Matthew Nicks was appointed Adelaide coach on Tuesday.

Clarke has spoken to Nicks a couple of times since his appointment last week and bumped into him on Monday.

"His family's still in Sydney, but I saw him today … we crossed paths in the hallway," Clarke said.

"He looked refreshed and ready to go, so I'm sure he'll do well."

The Crows have had a massive overhaul of personnel, on and off the field.

Head of football Brett Burton and senior assistant coach Scott Camporaele were let go as a result of the club's external review, while Eddie Betts (Carlton), Sam Jacobs (Greater Western Sydney), Josh Jenkins (Geelong), Alex Keath (Western Bulldogs), Hugh Greenwood (Gold Coast) and Cam Ellis-Yolmen (Brisbane) found new homes during the AFL Trade Period.

"Everyone attached to the footy club knows it's been a challenging period and we've had to say goodbye to some really good people, but the reality of footy is there's always change," Clarke said.

"Every season, there's enormous change, so we look forward to what's coming next.

"It should be exciting."
