It's time to kick with confidence as the NAB AFL Superkick season returns for 2026.
NAB AFL Superkick - touted as the cool ‘older' sibling of NAB AFL Auskick, is a participation program which encourages 7-12-year-olds to discover the fun of footy in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
Designed for children who are looking to develop their skills or who are picking up a footy for the first time, the tackle-free program boasts smaller team sizes and a shorter season, providing the perfect introduction for new participants to connect with footy at their own pace.
Delivered at the same location each week at local centres and clubs, the one-hour session is split across two levels of progression, consisting of football-specific skills, invasion and evasion activities as well as modified tackle-free match play.
The super fun, super inclusive and super safe environment can be seen through booming participation numbers nationally since the program's introduction in 2024.
In its second season of the program, NAB AFL Superkick reached more than 37,500 registered participants in 2025, a 155 per cent year-on-year increase, with the program aiming to hit 49,000 registered participants this season.
With all-girls programs available, girls' participation in NAB AFL Superkick has risen by more than 212 per cent, with almost 10,500 registered participants.
Reflecting the strength of the entry-level program, this comes as there are now more than 400 community NAB AFL Superkick centres around the country, an increase of more than 182 per cent from 2025.
AFL Executive General Manager of Game Development, Rob Auld said:
"As we strive to have everyone love and connect with our game to help reach our vision of one million participants by 2033, NAB AFL Superkick is critical in creating a welcoming and inclusive entry point into our game," Auld said.
"Offering a tackle-free format designed to be fun and accessible for every child, no matter their experience or background, we're seeing a great take-up with those who are new to the game or transitioning from NAB AFL Auskick and are looking to develop their match skills.
"Right around Australia, there are more centres and more opportunities than ever before to get involved with NAB AFL Superkick.
"As part of our ambition to reach nearly 50,000 participants in 2026, it is a priority for us to ensure that the program continues to fit in with busy family schedules with flexible times and a shorter season.
"On behalf of the AFL, I'd like to thank NAB for their continual support in growing the game across both of our major participation programs."
NAB AFL Superkick ambassador, Tayla Harris said:
"NAB AFL Superkick is all about having a go, empowering kids to build skills, socialise and connect through the program, no matter what skill or background they have," Harris said.
"There has been a rapid uptake of girls in the program, and it's exciting to see the game growing, with more girls feeling like they truly belong in footy thanks to clear pathways like NAB AFL Superkick.
"As my role as an ambassador for NAB AFL Superkick, I look forward to helping kids to take their first steps in the game and find their lifelong love of footy."
NAB Chief Marketing Officer Natalie Lockwood said:
"NAB AFL Superkick reflects NAB's commitment to being a long‑term partner for families as kids move through different stages of their footy journey.
"Superkick sits at an important stage - where kids are building confidence, developing skills and discovering what it means to be part of a team. It's about keeping footy accessible, fun and welcoming as children grow in the game," Lockwood said.
"At NAB, we believe in being a partner at every stage of life, and NAB AFL Superkick represents a key next step for families continuing their journey in community sport.
"In partnership with the AFL, we're proud to continue growing the program across communities around Australia to create more opportunities for kids to have a go, build friendships and kick goals."
