THE AFL has written to all clubs to advise the key dates for the 2026 AFL player movement period.
The 2026 Mid-Season Rookie Draft will be held on Tuesday, May 26 at 6.30pm AEST.
The AFL Free Agency period commences on Friday, October 2 at 9.00am AEST and will run until Friday, October 9, 5.00pm AEDT.
The 2026 Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period will commence on Monday, October 5 at 9.00am AEDT and will run until Wednesday, October 14 at 7.30pm AEDT.
AFL Delisted Player Free Agency Period runs from Monday, November 2 at 9.00am AEDT to Friday, November 6 at 5.00pm AEDT.
Round One of the 2026 Telstra AFL Draft will be held on Thursday, November 19 at 7.00pm AEDT followed by the remaining rounds of the Draft on Friday, November 20, at 7.00pm AEDT
AFL Rookie Draft, Monday, 23 November, at 3.00pm AEDT.
