BOX HILL HAWKS 3.0 4.0 4.0 5.1 (31)
An outstanding fourth quarter display propelled Tasmania to its first ever VFLW home win and second victory of the VFLW season with a nine-point triumph over Box Hill Hawks at Penguin’s Dial Park. The visitors looked the goods in the early stages of the contest, kicking three of the first four majors of the game to lead by 11 points at quarter time. The Devils were then able to even the contest across the next two terms, reducing the deficit at each interval to make the margin three points when the final quarter commenced. It was there that the home side dominated with possession which created multiple opportunities on goal. They would hit the lead at the 10-minute mark and despite trailing again momentarily, back-to-back majors from Grace White and Perri King sealed the club’s first win in their home state. White would finish with a season high three majors to take her 2026 tally to eight goals, with teammate Angelica Clark also influential with 19 disposals, seven tackles and six clearances. Box Hill were led by Kayley Kavanagh (21 disposals, seven tackles, one goal) and Ruby Ford (21 hit outs, 18 disposals, six clearances).

WILLIAMSTOWN 1.0 4.2 5.4 6.6 (42)
WESTERN BULLDOGS 1.0 2.0 3.1 4.1 (25)
Williamstown ended Round 8 on top of the VFLW ladder on percentage after picking up their sixth straight win when they defeated the Western Bulldogs by 17 points at DSV Stadium. After an even opening term, the Seagulls threatened to break the game open with three straight majors in the second quarter to reach a 20-point lead late in the term. The Bulldogs wouldn’t allow the margin to blow out much further throughout the remainder of the game but also weren’t able to bring the deficit down close enough to give themselves a chance at winning, allowing the home side to control the last quarter and finish as victors. For the third time this season, Mia Zielinkski booted three or majors in a game, all of her goals coming in the second and third terms, whilst Megan Williamson set the tone again with her pressure, leading the way for Williamstown in disposals (17) and tackles (12). Winning plenty of footy for the Bulldogs was Jorja Livingstone (30 disposals, seven tackles) and Ellie Bishop (26 disposal, four intercepts).

COLLINGWOOD 1.2 1.4 3.5 4.6 (30)
CARLTON 0.3 1.4 1.6 3.8 (26)
Collingwood had to survive a late charge by Carlton to remain unbeaten in season 2026, holding on for a four-point triumph at Highgate Recreation Reserve on Saturday. The Pies started the game the better of the two sides but were quick to be challenged by the Blues who trailed by only five points at quarter time and went into the main break on level pecking with last year’s Grand Finalists. In an eventually decisive third term, Amelia Peck was once again the player to spark Collingwood into action, kicking back-to-back goals to help her side take an 11-point lead into the final term. The away side wouldn’t go down without a fight however, winning the final quarter and giving themselves an opportunity to win the game in the final few minutes when they reduced the margin to four points at the 17-minute mark. A season best performance from Stella Huxtable helped the Pies get the four points, as her game included 33 disposals, eight clearances and six tackles, whilst teammate Talia Sanger’s form continued to shine, finishing with 27 touches, 10 tackles and five inside 50s. A gallant effort from the Blues was led by Octavia Di Donato who had 20 disposals, 13 tackles and kicked a goal.
