SYDNEY has locked in 2nd place on the AFL ladder with a solid win over Essendon at the MCG.
Chad Warner and Charlie Curnow kicked three first-quarter goals each as the Swans surged to a 37-point lead, but the Bombers fought back to within 12 points in the third quarter before succumbing to a 17.10 (112) to 11.10 (76) defeat.

Isaac Heeney starred with 29 disposals and three goals, Chad Warner 23 and three, while Charlie Curnow kicked four goals and Errol Gulden eclipsed his career-high with 46 touches.
20-year-old ruckman Vigo Visenti was a shining light for the Bombers with 19 disposals, 14 hit-outs, nine marks, six tackles and his first career goal going up against Brodie Grundy.
