THERE were six perfect 10-vote games to start the 2026 NAB AFLW Season, with some big names getting full votes from the coaches in round one.

Greater Western Sydney's Bec Beeson, Richmond's Mon Conti, the Western Bulldogs' Jess Fitzgerald, Port Adelaide's Teagan Germech, Sydney's Ally Morphett and Melbourne's Olivia Purcell all received a perfect 10 votes to share the early lead in the race to be named the AFL Coaches Association Champion Player of the Year for 2026.

Carlton's Mimi Hill and St Kilda's Tyanna Smith split the honours with eight votes apiece in the opening game of the season, while North Melbourne stars Ash Riddell and Jasmine Garner took nine votes each in the Roos' big win over Geelong.

Brisbane swept the votes in their big win over Essendon, with Jade Ellenger (eight) topping the votes for her side.

Every week, the two senior coaches for each game give votes on a 5-4-3-2-1 basis, meaning 10 votes is the maximum a player can get in each round.

The player with the most votes at the end of the home and away season will win the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year Award.
